Why we foster pets…

Fostering animals is a way to make a direct and positive impact on the pervasive homeless animal problem in our country, a way to get involved in animal rescue, and make a difference in the lives of animals. By simply opening your home and heart to a pet in need, you will change that animal’s life – and yours – forever. While fostering may not be for everyone, we know there are more foster parents out there who don’t know that fostering is right for them – yet!

Are you an individual who is interested in learning more about pet fostering? Are you a volunteer or staff member of a rescue/shelter that is interested in growing your foster network? Are you located in the Chicago-land area? We are a Pet Foster Advocacy group that provides resources to individuals, rescues, and shelters to promote pet fostering in our community; we work to connect prospective foster parents with rescues or shelters in their area.

We provide videos, blog posts, foster family stories, foster pet stories, and more to educate new foster families and create a sense of inclusion when joining the community effort to save needy animals.

Do you have a foster story to tell?

We’re looking for contributors to our blog! If you are a foster and want to share your favorite foster pet, best experience (or worst), or give advice to new foster parents – please contact us at info@whywefosterpets.org!
